McKenzy Cresswell is aiming for 2023 GB3 Championship success having switched to Elite Motorsport for his second season in the single-seater category.

The 16-year-old BRDC Rising Star who is based in Surrey, finished 11th in his maiden GB3 season this year having scored a podium placing at Spa-Francorchamps.

McKenzy, who spent his early life in Austin, Texas, won more races, claimed more fastest laps, and scored more podiums than any other driver in his rookie British F4 season in 2021, finishing third in the final standings, just 26-points behind the title winner.

Ginetta specialists Elite have scored nine podiums including four race wins, finishing fifth in the 2021 GB3 Teams’ championship and a notable third last year.

The eight-event, 24 race calendar features two international rounds for the first time, in Belgium and the Netherlands and begins at Oulton Park (8-10 Apr) and concludes at Donington Park (21-22 Oct).

McKenzy Cresswell (GB):

“I wouldn’t be coming back to this championship unless I had what it takes to win.

“With a year under my belt, a strong team, and the right car beneath me, my goal is the championship title.

“Elite had a great 2022 in GB3, taking multiple wins and podiums, and looked like they had a consistently competitive car.

“I tested with them at Silverstone and everything went really well. I felt comfortable in the car and liked how the team worked and was structured.”

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:

“I’m really excited to announce McKenzy as our first GB3 driver for 2023.

“He’s proved that he is one of the up-and-coming front runners in British motorsport and we are very excited with what we believe is achievable next season.

“McKenzy has a fantastic attitude towards his racing and everyone at Elite is looking forward to working with him next year.”
