Defending Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Teams’ champions Elite Motorsport will head for Thruxton later this month (27-28 Aug) now placed second in the standings after Tom Emson scored his and Elite’s first victory with the new G56 model.

Tom started the opening race on Elite’s “home soil” last weekend (13-14 Aug) from third on the grid and ran in that position from green light to chequered flag in the eight-lap, 15min race.

Another third-place start for Race 2 resulted in another third at the finish, Emson having dropped to fourth on the opening lap after an unsuccessful attempt to snatch second place just after the start.

He began Race 3 once again from the second row, superbly snatched the lead on the opening lap and cruised home to a thoroughly well-deserved victory in the 11-lap, 21min race. Emson remains third in the Driver’s standings but has closed the gap to the second placed driver.

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager

“I was extremely pleased to end the SuperCup weekend on such a high with Tom’s dominant victory.

“We had a tough Friday in official testing and we were playing catch-up over the race weekend.

“However, after two solid third-places, we then showed some fantastic pace in Race 3 and Tom drove a brilliant race.”
