Smalley stays with the team with whom he enjoyed title-winning success in the Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship last season. The Lancashire racer starred with no less than seven race victories and ten further podium finishes.

That capped off a great spell in the championship for the 18 year old, who started his car-racing career in 2017 as the Ginetta Junior Scholarship winner and won the Winter Series title that year, before becoming the first Scholar so far to go on and win the overall Junior crown.

Adam Smalley: “I’m really looking forward to this season and the new challenges ahead. I’m delighted to be getting the chance to stay in the Ginetta family and continue racing with my championship winning team Elite Motorsport.

“We made the decision to enter Ginetta GT5 Challenge quite late, but I’m confident I can get enough testing under my belt to go and challenge for the championship with the support of Dan Morley Snap On, Madame Tussauds Blackpool, North West Laptops and JD Fencing and Paving.”

Pearce meanwhile makes a full-time move into four-wheel competition after spending the last eight years competing in top-level motorbike racing. The 29 year old competed in both the British Supersport Championship and Bahrain Superbike Championship last year.

The London based racer took part in three rounds of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge last season and picked up an impressive Am Class podium finish at Knockhill. With that experience under his belt, Pearce now enters the series full-time with support from 777 Group and EVhire.

Wesley Pearce: “I can’t wait to get the season started in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. I feel with the package we have and experience from the team, we will be able to be very competitive. I will be looking to learn as much as possible and aim to win some races throughout the year.”

Eddie Ives, team principal: “As a team that have won races in the Ginetta Juniors, GT4 SuperCup and G40 Cup, it seemed only right to put a competitive package together for the GT5 Challenge and Adam Smalley and Wesley Pearce are the ideal line-up.

“With the work we’ve done over the winter, I have no doubt that we will be at the front of both the Pro and the Am classes, fighting for the championships. Everyone at Elite Motorsport is looking forward to being part of another fantastic Ginetta grid.”
