Elite Motorsport’s Alex Walker and Jack Sherwood head to Donington Park later this month (28-29 May) placed first and eighth in the GB4 standings with Elite consolidating second in the Teams’ title race following the latest three races.

Walker secured his fifth front row start of the season from seven races for Race 1, subsequently missing out on a fourth victory of the season by less than a second, finishing runner-up having led the opening lap. A collision while dicing for the lead, caused Alex to post his first retirement due to suspension damage in Race 2.
A great effort by the Elite team to repair his car saw Walker line-up 12th for Race 3, Alex coming home eighth.

Sherwood, who recently celebrated his 16th birthday (2 May), made it an all Elite front row for Race 1, Jack missing out on pole to Walker by a mere 0.065s – but still his best quali of the season. He dropped to sixth on lap one but recovered to fifth at the chequered flag – repeating that result in Race 2. Jack rounded off the weekend with a brilliant maiden podium and first fastest race lap in Race 3 having started 11th.

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:

“After some hard work in the build-up to Saturday morning, it was a turnaround weekend for Jack who showed some extremely strong pace.

“I’m extremely pleased for Jack, finishing third after starting 11th in Race 3. Alex still leads the championship but had a bit of a tough weekend.

“But he’s a top kid and I’m confident we will be back fighting for top honours at Donington later this month.”
