Elite Motorsport’s Alex Walker heads for the next GB4 event at Oulton Park later this month (15-18 Apr) leading the championship with team-mate Jack Sherwood handily placed in seventh.

Walker just missed out on pole for the two opening races at the Snetterton 300 circuit, located just 15-miles from Elite’s Shipdham near Thetford raceshop, but nevertheless claimed two, excellent front row starts.

In the opening race, Alex challenged for the lead on the first lap but ultimately had to settle for second place. On Sunday morning, Walker recorded a fine victory to register Elite Motorsport's maiden single-seater race win. The ex-Formula Ford racer rounded off a very impressive weekend with sixth place in the reverse grid Race 3.

Former Ginetta Junior competitor Sherwood qualified well in fourth and seventh places for his first single-seater races but unfortunately stalled at the start of Race 1. Jack nevertheless recovered to eighth at the chequered flag in the 18mins race before posting a pair of solid seventh place finishes in Races 2 & 3.

Oulton Park in Cheshire hosts Rounds 4, 5 & 6 of the GB4 Championship partnered by the BRDC.

Eddie Ives, Elite Motorsport Team Owner & Manager:

“A win, two podiums, six top-eight race finishes and two front row starts – I’d say that was a very good start to Elite’s maiden GB4 season which also included our first single-seater win!

“Considering Alex’s previous single-seater experience, I was fully expecting him to be on the pace for his first GB4 race weekend and he proved me correct. A couple of front row starts, just missing out on pole at the death, followed up with a win and second place was a brilliant performance.

“Jack produced a solid weekend considering it’s only his second season out of karts and had come from Ginetta Juniors. The stall in Race 1 was a shame as I think he could have challenged for a top-four place but he fought back and comes away from Snett with three top-eight placings in his maiden single-seater event of his career.”
