Welsh youngster Mckenzie Douglass remains with Elite Motorsport for a second consecutive Ginetta Junior Championship season.

Mckenzie, aged 15 from the Vale of Glamorgan, placed 12th in last year’s Junior campaign, the fifth best Rookie having previously competed in karting for 10 years.

He won the 2014 South Wales Kart Club (Bambino), finished eighth overall in the 2021 British Championship (Mini Max) before contesting the Ginetta Winter Series with Elite at the end of that year.

Douglass recorded 14 top-10 overall race results in Juniors last year – including eight Rookie podiums – finishing his first full year of car racing off by scoring three top-four placings in the Ginetta Winter Series last November.

Mckenzie joins previously announced "rookie" Charlie Hart and Alisha Palmowski in Elite's Ginetta Junior line-up.

“My aim is to win the championship. With a GJ season under my belt I believe this is achievable.

“I also know that there is a lot more to come from my side. Elite and I worked really together last year and staying with them for a second Junior season was a no brainer for me.

“One of the main elements that I learned last year was the amount of commitment needed to compete in this very competitive series.”

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager

“I'm really pleased to announce that Mckenzie is staying for his second year with Elite Motorsport."

“Last year was his first year out of karts and we built up a very good relationship with him last year.

“He has masses of natural ability so I'm very hopeful that he'll be fighting right up at the front this year.”
