Teo Martin Motorsport racer Tommy Pintos will join Elite Motorsport for the 2020 Ginetta Junior Championship.

Pintos made it to the final five of this years Ginetta Junior Scholarship competition, but missed out to British racer Tom Lebbon.

As well as karting, Pintos has experience racing buggies in the Spanish Autocross championship, finishing third in class this year.

“I am very happy with this new challenge in the Ginetta G40 Junior,” he said. “The goal in 2019 was to finish among the top three of the CEAX and, despite the problems with which we started the season, we have achieved it.

“The CarCross is a totally different car to what we usually drive, an aggressive and difficult vehicle but at the same time very fun and very good to learn.

“After finishing the CEAX season, we began to prepare for the challenge of facing the Ginetta Junior Scholarship 2020 in the UK in the best possible way and the experience was unbeatable. We were finalists in the test and Elite Motorsport wanted to count on me for the new season.

“They are the champions for the last three years, so I have not been able to find a better structure for my debut. With their experience in this championship and the support of Teo Martin Motorsport and MSi, I am sure we can achieve everything that we set out in 2020.”

Pintos will continue to be supported by Teo Martin Motorsport and Next Level Motorsport, whom he became an ambassador for in October.

“When Tommy arrived at our Junior Team, we knew he was special,” said Teo Martin team owner, Teo Martin. “He demonstrated it in karting, he has shown it in CarCross and he has done it again in the tests with Ginetta. He is an exceptional pilot when he puts on his helmet but, above all, the learning ability outside the car will take him very far. We are very proud to have accompanied him on the road and to follow at his side in this new challenge outside Spain in what will be his first year at the controls of a race car on a circuit.”

'We knew of Tommy before but it wasn't until the Ginetta scholarship where his natural ability & talent shone through. After a couple of days testing this month, I am very pleased to have secured Tommy in our Ginetta Junior 2020 squad where i'm sure he will have a big part to play in helping us aim to retain our titles." - Elite Motorsport Team Owner Eddie Ives.

Pintos is the first driver to be confirmed for Elite Motorsport’s 2020 campaign.
