Harry King took a win at Rockingham Motor Speedway this weekend (11/12 August) as Charlie Ladell continued to maintain his championship lead with a second, third and fourth place result.

After qualifying on pole position, Tom Roche claimed a dominant lights-to-flag victory in the opening Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup encounter of the weekend at Rockingham after holding off a late-race challenge from Harry King.  Championship leader Charlie Ladell made a great move to go from fourth to second place on the opening lap. His title rival, Carl Boardley, picked up a place to climb to fifth but despite a race-long fight with Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke, he could make no further progress.

Up front, the top three broke away from the Gordon-Colebrooke / Boardley / Fender / Constable squabble in the early stages. A fearless move from Harry King saw the former Ginetta Junior move into second on lap eight at Deene Hairpin. Once ahead of Ladell, he started to reel in Roche for the lead.

On the penultimate lap, a trio of two-car battles emerged. Roche had to work hard to keep King at bay for the victory, whilst Gordon-Colebrooke challenged Ladell for the final spot on the podium. Fender was right with Boardley over the final place in the top five, but the sextet ultimately ended in that order. Somerfield finished seventh, with Constable and Shield rounding out the top 10.

In the Am class, it was a strong race again for points leader Michael Crees. He held off his title rival, Colin White to take another class win, with White bringing his car home in second. A fantastic battle between Dave Brooks and Jack Minshaw raged throughout much of the race, with Brooks eventually holding off the Demon Tweaks machine for the final spot on the rostrum.
