Elite Motorsport have finished runners-up in this year’s Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Championship despite running just a single-car entry for the last 15 races.

Tom Emson placed first twice and third in the final event of the season at Brands Hatch (8-9 Oct) to seal second place in the G56 Professional Driver’s Championship standings.

Emson showed phenomenal form in the second half the season which he reinforced on the daunting Brands “Grand Prix” circuit over the weekend. Tom recorded two pole-positions – achieved in tricky damp conditions – two lights to flag victories, despite intense pressure from the ultimate champion, then third in the reverse grid Race 3 plus fastest race lap.

Tom, who finished sixth in last year’s SuperCup standings which saw Elite’s Adam Smalley win the Driver’s title, netted 15 podiums in this year’s 20-race campaign that included five wins.

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:

“I’m so pleased to have ended the year with such pace with Tom. He did a stella job last weekend on the Brands GP circuit!"

“To have the confidence on slicks, in tricky conditions, paid off – qualifying over two seconds ahead of everyone.

“It’s been a pleasure to have worked with Tom this year and we now look forward to the future.”
