As the GT4 SuperCup tackled the fastest circuit in the UK for the first time since 2015, the class of 2019 produced a thrilling weekend of action as Burns (Rob Boston Racing) took the first two wins before Harry King (Elite Motorsport) hit back with victory in the reverse grid final encounter.

King was the points leader heading into the weekend and he came away from qualifying with his second pole position of the campaign, though title rivals Burns and Tom Hibbert (Triple M Motorsport) were hot on his heels heading into the opening race.

It was those three who would fight it out for victory later that day, with King putting in a great display to keep them at bay for the majority of the race. Heading onto the final lap of the race though, Burns got a run and drew alongside as they headed through Allard.

While Burns got ahead and went on to take the victory, an unfortunate puncture for King ultimately led to his retirement. Hibbert came home second, while a mammoth six way battle behind ultimately decided the final podium position.

Reece Somerfield (Elite Motorsport) put in a fantastic drive to fend off a chasing pack led by Mike Epps (Team HARD) and Carlito Miracco (Privateer) to record his seventh podium finish of the campaign, while Miracco passed Epps on the final lap to take fourth.

Fin Green (TCR) rounded out the top six just ahead of an exciting duel for the Am Class honours between Nathan Heathcote (Century Motorsport) and Colin White (CWS Motorsport). Heathcote fended off his more experienced rival to pick up the victory.

After dropping to the rear of the field on the opening lap, James Kell (Rob Boston Racing) fought back superbly to complete the Am Class podium ahead of Jack Oliphant (Century Motorsport) and debutants Jason McInulty (ES Motorsport) and Jamie Hopkins (Elite Motorsport).

In front of a huge trackside crowd on Sunday morning, there was an unfortunate start to race two as both King and Epps had to pull off into retirement at the end of the green flag lap. Burns went on to lead the field into an early safety car period ahead of Hibbert and Somerfield.

When the action resumed, Burns was able to edge clear at the front and went on to take his fourth win of the campaign. Hibbert was less than a second behind at the finish to take second again, while Green picked off Somerfield close to the finish to record his maiden podium finish.

Somerfield eventually came home in sixth, with White having worked his way past on his way to a 53rd career Am Class victory and a seasons best overall finish of fourth. Miracco was fifth, while Kell followed home Somerfield en-route to second in the Ams.

Heathcote fought back from a mid-race spin to complete the class podium, having picked off Oliphant on the final lap. Carl Garnett (AK Motorsport) meanwhile took a weekend high finish of tenth overall and fifth in class.
