Josh Rattican and Tom Emson head to Oulton Park next month (11-12 Jun) placed fourth and fifth in the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Championship standings after the opening three races of the season.

Having qualified second (Rattican) and fourth (Emson) fastest for Race 1 at Brands Hatch (14-15 May), punctures resulted in unrepresentative race results for both drivers who set the third (Rattican) and fourth (Emson) fastest lap times in their new G56 machines.

Emson, who claimed sixth place in the overall standings last year and 2021 runner-up Rattican, began the second Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup race from 18th and 19th on the 21-car grid due to their opening race results.

But the Elite duo scythed their way through the field to finish fifth plus fastest lap (Rattican) and sixth (Emson), Tom completing his 50th SuperCup race. In the drizzle affected final race, Josh and Tom netted second – just 0.359secs behind the race winner – and fourth positions, Emson having ran second for much of the race himself.

Eddie Ives, Team Manager at Elite Motorsport Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:

“Although it was a tough weekend for our SuperCup squad at Brands Hatch, I’m very pleased with both Josh and Tom.

“Upgrading to the new G56 car was always going to be a tough challenge but I have no doubt my excellent team will get it turned around.

“We have some testing planned to enable us to understand the G56 better and look forward to the next meeting at Oulton Park.”
